22 Apr Dr. John Prunskis and Family Celebrate at the White House
John V. Prunskis, M.D. FIPP Medical Director of the Illinois Pain Institute and Advisor/ Member Health and Human Services (HHS) Best Practices Pain Task Force, Washington D.C. attended First Lady Melania Trump’s White House Easter Egg Festivities on April 22, 2019 with his nieces and their children. Three generations of the Prunskis family enjoyed the annual activities which included: the traditional Egg Roll, Cards for Troops, Musical Eggs, Egg Hunt and Decorating, and Be Best Hopscotch. The children also took time to listen to stories being read by First Lady Melania Trump as well as other government leaders. The Easter Bunny made his annual appearance and Military Bands provided the entertainment.
Dr. Prunskis is locally, nationally and internationally recognized and respected for his work in the field of Interventional Pain Medicine as well as his work to end the opioid crisis.
HHS announced last week that based on the recommendations made by the HHS Best Practices Pain Task Force a new program will be launched to cut opioid overdoses by 40 percent in three years. Dr. Prunskis said: “This is a significant step forward in achieving a meaningful solution to the opioid narcotic crisis. Our final HHS Best Practices Pain Task Force Report to Congress will be submitted in May.”
