Dr. Terri Dallas-Prunskis earned her medical degree and received her anesthesiology training from Howard University School of Medicine.
She then went on to attend the University of New Jersey School of Medicine, where she completed her Pain Management Fellowship. Before co-founding the Illinois Pain Institute, Dr. Dallas-Prunskis was recruited by the University of Chicago to develop and direct its comprehensive pain management center, where she was Chairman for seven years.
Besides her medical, academic and business accomplishments, what sets her apart is her warmth and compassion, which she incorporates into her medical practice. She prides herself on building emotional connections with patients through offering nurturing, spiritual guidance and taking the time to get to know them as individuals beyond their medical concerns. She frequently contacts them personally to make sure they are having a positive experience.
Pain management doctor, Dallas-Prunskis, regularly makes presentations around the Chicagoland area and is an active member of the American Academy of Pain Management, the McHenry County Medical Society, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the Illinois State Medical Society. She has a strong sense of religious faith and gives back to her community by doing charity work; most recently to raise awareness in the prevention of childhood obesity. In her spare time Dr. Dallas-Prunskis is also an avid triathlon competitor.
